Response to Greg Holmes



I also thought s that some of Emily Dickens’ poetry was morbid. I agree with you on your comments on the poem “Because I Could not Stop for Death” and “I Heard a Fly Buzz”. They are very new perspectives on death. Even though the subject of these two poems are sort of sad, it makes you see death in a new light and that is one of Dickens’ amazing attributes. Through her poetry, she develops new perspectives on things that we might otherwise not even want to think about in the first place.
